Bad timing
I had it all planned...
The painters started to paint on Monday. We moved most of the furniture to other rooms and covered the rest on Sunday night. "A storm inside my head" HQs was moved to the master bedroom, to the walk-in closet to be precise. We would live upstairs for a couple of days because the radiators are not installed yet and it is getter colder and colder downstairs. Normally the kids come home for lunch, but they would go to the school canteen on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Yesterday, 1.30 pm, the canteen called to ask me to come and pick up my daughter, who wasn't feeling well...
Being so close together in one room, I'll probably be ill by the end of the week as well! Such a bad timing.

This is the reason why...
... I didn't blog for a week. It has been very busy around here. All four children at home, builders running around the house, dust everywhere...
But the floor is ready! We have chosen neutral large grey/black tiles. I would have loved a wooden floor, but it is just not practical with kids in the house. I cannot wait to start decorating!

Noise
These earrings are so fun to make! It was a good distraction from the dust and noise in my almost empty house last week. The builders turn on the radio at 8 am and turn it off at 4 pm. I love music, but I really like to hear myself think when I am alone at home.

Natacha, did you become a minimalist?
No, I didn't (decorating is my passion!).
Next week the builders are planning to tear down the wall in the living room and start the house extension. To keep my mental health, we decided to move almost everything out of the living room and put it in my daughter's room for several weeks. My daughter sleeps on her mattress on the floor in my son's bedroom (oh my, are they having fun every night!). When the construction part is finished, we are also having most of the house painted and two bathrooms built. It is so much easier to clean an empty house. So I'll be living sort of a minimalist life for the next couple of weeks.

Fire!
When we planned the renovation of our house, a real stove was on top of our list. We are so looking forward to sitting around the fire in winter.

Terrace
They came yesterday - 6 men and some impressive machines - and started with the terrace. They destroyed half the garden, but the result will be so cool. The right part of the extension is going to be my little studio. Finally a place just for me!
But for the moment I am having a bad headache, so much noise today.
